Happ To Miss Next Start

Phillies pitcher JA Happ is scheduled to miss his next start.  Happ is dealing with elbow soreness and the Phillies are hoping that he can make his next start.  This injury is a huge blow to the Phillies starting rotation.  The rotation is already missing righthander Joe Blanton.  Happ was one of the Phillies most consistent starters last season.  He pitched well so far this year.  He shutout the Astros and didn’t give up many runs in his last start.  The Phillies weakness is pitching and they certainly can’t afford to be losing an arm right now.  The rotation has been very inconsistent with Kyle Kendrick and Jamie Moyer struggling early.  Cole Hamels turned in a solid start going eight innings against the Marlins yesterday, so that is encouraging news.  Overall, Happ is a good young pitcher that always gives the Phillies a chance to win.  His absence in the rotation is a very big deal.  There is no word yet on who will take his spot.  Nelson Figueroa is a possibility.
