Graham Agrees To Deal

Worry no more Eagles fans.  First round pick Brandon Graham has signed.  Graham agreed to a five year contract on Thursday evening.  The terms of the deal were not disclosed.  This is great news for the Eagles organization.  Now the entire 2010 Eagles draft class is signed and in camp.  The rookies are expected to contribute in a big way this season.  Defensive coordinataor Sean McDermott has already stated that he is not playing favorite.  He will start the best 11 guys on his defense.

Graham flew to Philadelphia today and is expected to participate in the afternoon practice.  It’s great to get Graham signed and at Lehigh for practice so he can start competing and learning the playbook.  Graham is expected to make significant contributions on defense this year.  He will compete with 10 year veteran defensive end Juqua Parker for the starting job.  Surprisingly the Eagles were tied for third in the NFL in sacks with 44.  That’s mainly because Trent Cole had 12.5 of them.  Cole is considered one of the premiere defensive ends in football.  He is constantly doubled teamed and needs help from the other side of the line.  Graham should provide some significant assistance to Mr. Cole.  He had 28 career sacks and 138 tackles while at the University of Michigan.  He may be undersized but this guy has a motor that just won’t quite.  I think Graham is going to have an outstanding season and will be starting by the midpoint of the season.
