Roy Halladay is turning some heads in the Sunshine State. Halladay turned in another successful outing tonight. He pitched three innings and had five strikeouts with no runs allowed. The thing that I’m most impressed with about Halladay is that he doesn’t get rattled. He allowed back to back singles in the 2nd inning with 2 outs. He did not panic one bit. He just stepped back onto the hill and got the final out without flinching. I sure hope Cole Hamels was paying attention.
The Philles offense came alive in this game. Jayson Werth hit a two-run home run in the 1st inning, but the lead did not last as Ryan Madson gave up four runs in only one inning of work. Ben Francisco and John Mayberry Jr. each knocked in two runs while Brian Schneider contributed with an RBI. The Phillies won the game 7-4. It’s a shame they couldn’t get some runs off of their old friend Billy Wagner.
