The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Blair Betts to a 2 year contract extension. The deal is worth about 1.4 million and Betts will earn $700K per year. This is a great move for the Orange and Black. Betts is quite arguably the Flyers’ best penalty killer. He does his job on the penalty kill. The Flyers kill 80.9% of their penalties and Betts is a very big part of that. Betts was signed as a free agent after playing for the New York Rangers last season. He was simply signed on a tryout contract and had to prove himself in the preseason. Betts did very well and has made his way onto the team. This is a sign that good things do actually come to those who work hard.
